Reflection:
Reflecting on my experience and ongoing learning as a school counselor in training (SCIT) for the dispositional value of professional conduct about ethical and professional standards, I see a place of growth and possible improvement. As I reviewed this paper from my School Counseling Practicum, it forced me to look at myself from my earlier experiences and assess my conduct as a professional today. It revealed that my professionalism must involve attendance, promptness, and active participation during interactive meetings. I must use every opportunity to better my skills. I have also learned that life is not so black and white, and there will be moments of experiencing some grays. This has been an area for growth, and I am committed to allowing growth to take place. Recognizing my strengths, but also acknowledging my weaknesses is what will catapult me into greatness.

I strive to proficiently demonstrate knowledge and skills of ethical standards of professional counseling organizations and credentialing bodies. I also strive to embody what it looks like to apply ethical and legal considerations in professional counseling and skillfully demonstrate growth throughout the process of obtaining my school counseling degree. I now practice sound judgment and ethical behavior by consulting the ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors, peer counselors, and administrative staff for guidance. I believe that someone else’s experience can become my point of reference.

Conclusively, I believe that I am a positive role model within the school community because of my willingness to receive instructions and my openness to feedback. I positively demonstrate a spirit of oneness with my colleagues and mirror my Godly character daily. This is my reflection.
